The Character Láko

Date of birth: 6500 BC

Láko, known in the Lays of Láko as Magaláko or “Great Láko”, was the blood-son of Pérha. Born in the hill-village of Dókhali on the river Néra, he later migrated south with his mother and his milk-sister Deghóm to the sea-village of Meraháma.

Later he became involved in the great events of the Tuméra, the great flood that swept through the coastlands of the Sweet Sea. His role in these events was so significant that the era of the flood was later known as “The Times of Deghóm and Great Láko”. The events of this period are recounted in the book In the Day of the Flood.
